Active Ageing in Singapore

Active Ageing in Singapore

Active ageing – what does it mean?

According to HealthHub, active ageing is “a holistic approach that helps a person to optimise their physical, mental and social health, be actively engaged in society and have the financial security to lead a good quality of life.”

Why is active ageing important?

With a rapidly ageing population, active ageing is important on a national level to ensure Singapore’s population remains healthy, independent and socially engaged well into the future.

On an individual level, active ageing helps us live longer and happier lives. Studies have shown that genetics contribute to one third of how well we age, our personal lifestyle choices make up the other two-thirds.
